New Scientist have an article at the moment about future houses which will be able to withstand the changing climate of the future. Most houses are very beautiful and some are already built, being lived in, and surviving numerous hurricanes. The house in this picture survived hurricane Ivan in 2004 and Katrina in 2005 while those around it were destroyed.Check it out

I think they're really beautiful. Can you see them catching on in the UK? I suspect we might be a bit too conservative, but if the wind picks up and waters rise...
I can't see the UK having many of these. But if they can make a semi detached version perhaps they will. It seems the UK is obsessed with their houses being attached to one another.
