
Inserted through the mouth and into the gut, the "Endobarrier" lines the walls of the intestine, preventing nutrients from being taken up.
It doesn't sound very pleasant, but I imagine it's preferable to gastric bypass surgery.

Yuk! Wouldn't it be easier (and possibly more pleasant) to just take a dose of tapeworms?!
I don't think tapeworms are a more pleasant option - there are some pretty nasty side effects. Has anyone seriously proposed worms as an obesity treatment?
